1. Christian¹ Retterer was born in France abt 1807.

The 1870 Lake County, Vernon, IL census states the 63 year old Christian Retterer was a farmer and his son, George, worked on a farm. Since Christian's youngest child listed in this census was born abt 1854 in France, it would appear they emigrated to America after that date.

Christian Retterer had the following children:

+ 2 i. George² Retterer was born abt 1846.

3 ii. Sophia Retterer was born in France abt 1851.

4 iii. Caroline Retterer was born in France abt 1854.
