He married Emeline Thomas in Irving, WI, September 27, 1899. Emeline was born in Granton, WI April 30, 1878. Emeline was the daughter of James Thomas and Mary Ann Levis. Emeline died April 29, 1961 in Irving, WI, at 82 years of age. Her body was interred May 2, 1961 in Black River Falls, WI, Little Norway Lutheran Church. According to his wife's obituary, Anton died a month after he suffered a broken neck and spinal injury in a fall from a load of hay.
