1. Tapley1 Hegwood was born in Sangamon County, IL March 15, 1832. Tapley died March 21, 1914 in Thomas, Custer, OK, at 82 years of age.
He married Jane Ann Reynolds in Marion county, IA, 1850. Jane died April 12, 1900 in Gentry County, MO. Tapley Hegwood was born March 15, 1832, in Sangamon County, Illinois, and passed away March 21, 1914, aged 82 years and six days. He moved with his parents to Marion County, Iowa, 1847. He was married to Jane Ann Reynolds in 1850. To them were born eight children. He moved to Gentry County, Missouri near Stanberry in 1879, where he lived until the death of his wife, April 12, 1900, after which he made his home with his daughter, Mrs. A.J. Burt at Thomas, until January 1912, when Mr. and Mrs. Burt sold their home here and moved to California, since then he has lived with his son John Hegwood, until his death at this place. He leaves one brother K. Hegwood of Marion County, Iowa. Two sons, C. Hegwood of Durham and John Hegwood of Thomas. Two daughters, Mrs. A.J. Burt of Gilroy, California, and Mrs. Eva Jones of New Mexico, 21 grandchildren, about 20 great-grandchildren and a host of friends to mourn his loss. In early life Mr. Hegwood and his wife were converted, she obeying the gospel and joined the Baptist church, but he never did, but he always led a good moral life and was generally recognized as a good citizen.

Francis A.2 Hegwood was born in Iowa February 28, 1851. Francis died
March 3, 1873 in Knoxville, Iowa, at 22 years of age. Her body was interred March 10, 1873 in Monster Cemetery, IA,
Monster Cemetery. She married George Washington McBurney in his father's home in Iowa, March 28,
1871. George was born in Farmington, Ontario, NY March 14, 1850. George was the son of Hamilton McBurney and
Eliza. George died February 26, 1928 in Thomas, Custer, OK, at 77 years of age. His body was interred February
28, 1928 in Thomas, Custer, OK, Mound Valley Cemetery. (See George Washington McBurney for the
continuation of this line.) Francis and G.W. had an infant son that died very young. A daughter, Maude, was born 3-3-1873. Francis died
of pneumonia when Maude was an infant. Maude was raised by her maternal grandparents, Tapley and Jane Hegwood. Both the infant son and
Maude are buried with Francis in Monster Cemetery.
