1. Hamilton1 McBurney was born in Ireland 1801. Hamilton died May 26, 1882 in Helena, Lewis & Clarke County, Montana, at 80 years of age.
He married Eliza in New York. Eliza was born in Scotland 1824. Eliza died 1855 in California, at 31 years of age. Hamilton McBurney came to New York about 1840. He was a stone mason, miner, and prospector who married probably in New York and then migrated to Keokuk, Iowa at age 49 (1850 census). The 1860 census shows him living in Todd Valley, CA but later moving to Helena, Montana. Hamilton's obituary states he came to Montana in 1867 but was in California in 1855 when his wife died. (Helena Weekly Herald, June 1, 1882)

Margaret Eliza2 McBurney was born in Rochester, Monroe, NY July 2, 1844.
Margaret died January 24, 1896 in Ft. Calhoun, Washington, NE, at 51 years of age. Her body was interred January 26,
1896 in Ft. Calhoun, Washington, NE, Ft. Calhoun Cemetery. She married William Henry Woods in
Iowa, August 25, 1863. William was born in Leeds, England September 28, 1839. William died February 8, 1927 in
Ft. Calhoun, Washington, NE, at 87 years of age.

Caroline A. McBurney was born in Farmington, Ontario, NY November 1, 1848. Caroline died May 3, 1927 in
Central Park, MT, at 78 years of age. Her body was interred May 27, 1927 in Helena, MT, Forestvale Cemetery. She married Daniel Dutro in Montana, 1870. Daniel was born in Taylorsville, OH September
17, 1848. Daniel died May 8, 1918 in Central Park, MT, at 69 years of age. Caroline's obituary states she died of pneumonia.
