1. Carl F.¹ Lorenz was born in Germany October 19, 1841. Carl died February 29, 1936 in Dundee, Kane County, IL, at 94 years of age. His body was interred March 4, 1936 in Dundee, Kane County, IL, Dundee Cemetery.

He married Maria Engle in Germany, October 23, 1869. Maria was born in Germany October 13, 1845. Maria died 1933 in Dundee, Kane County, IL, at 87 years of age. Her body was interred 1933 in Dundee, Kane County, IL, Dundee Cemetery.

Carl F. Lorenz and Maria Engle had the following children:

2 i. Martha² Lorenz. She married Fritz.

3 ii. Anna Lorenz was born in Germany. She married Benson.

4 iii. Frieda Lorenz. She married Albrecht.

5 iv. Bertha "Bessie" Lorenz was born in Germany, near the North Sea April 6, 1875. Bertha died February 14, 1903 in Elgin, IL, at 27 years of age. Her body was interred February 16, 1903 in Elgin, IL, Bluff City Cemetery. She married William Henry DuFree (Jr.) in Beloit, WI, May 14, 1895. William was born in Danville, NY 1854. William was the son of William Henry DuFree (Sr.). William died in Connersville, Union, IN. (See William Henry DuFree (Jr.) for the continuation of this line.)

6 v. Charles Lorenz was born April 2, 1881. Charles died July 2, 1955 at 74 years of age. His body was interred July 10, 1955 East Dundee Cemetery.
